Relax and have fun in a throwing class
Baker Creek Ceramic Studio offers pottery classes for all levels ages 16 and up. Using the potter's wheel, students learn to make bowls and mugs in beginning throwing. Intermediate throwing students learn to make plates, pitchers, berry bowls, lidded jars and coffee pour-over cones. Advanced students get instructor support for independent projects. All students learn surface options including colored slips, underglazes, carving and glazing. Plus we offer open studio time for all students to practice on Fridays from 1-6:30 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 6 pm.
Express your vision with sculpture
Our sculpting classes will help you find your voice and build your technical skills. Our topics vary including animals, human forms, story boats and masks. Each class offers exercises to help artists find and develop their own unique vision. Technical skills students will learn include slab building, coil building, pinching and sculpting. Classes learn facial expressions and animal characteristics. Our surface treatments include colored slip, burnished terra sigillata, underglazes, glazes, metal additions, metal washes and encaustic waxes. Best of all, the supportive environment encourages students to grow as artists.
